21 NH food pantries and shelters receiving donations at Caring and Sharing event
NH1 News is proud to be involved in the largest food drive on the seacoast, along with WTSN and The Bay Radio stations. Twenty-one shelters and food pantries are benefiting by receiving food donated by the public through the two day “Caring and Sharing” event.
The food drive takes place Friday Nov. 18, and Saturday Nov. 19 at the Hannaford’s in Dover. WTSN radio is broadcasting from the store during the event. The public is invited to stop by and donate. The goods will be used in Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to be distributed to hundreds of seacoast families during the holidays.
One of the non-profits receiving help is the Seacoast Family Food Pantry in Portsmouth. They just moved into a new facility two months ago.
“While we might be thinking about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this is a reminder people out there need help,” said Deb Anthony, Executive Director of the Seacoast Family Food Pantry.
Anthony says this is the time of year the pantry stocks up on canned goods to last through the winter.
All of the donated food stays within the local communities. For more information, please go to our website: nh1.com
