2016 First-in-the-Nation Primary: VB Break Down the Memorable Moments

While the First-in-the-Nation primary is over, the conversation about the candidates—and who will ultimately grab the Republican and Democratic nominations for president—isn’t.

I sat down with VB from the Howie Carr Show during our NH1 News at 10 broadcast Wednesday night to revisit some of the most memorable moments and what impact they could have on the campaigns.

We also discussed a touchy topic—at least for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Clinton refused to come the NH1 News studios for a sit-down interview with me, or perhaps more importantly, our political team during the entire campaign. The reason?

According to conversations with our news director on the phone and via email, they didn’t appreciate what they thought was unfavorable coverage. Clinton’s campaign specifically called out my story —and the follow-up in progress—about Clinton making dozens of children cry because she bailed on them during a forum at the Boys & Girls Club in Laconia last October.

The result: no in-studio interviews with Hillary Clinton. I asked VB for his thoughts on this strategy — and if he thought it contributed to her 2nd place finish in New Hampshire. Take a look.
