2 with injuries arrested on drug charges in NH after walking away from heavily damaged car

BOW — Police arrested two people on drug charges after an officer observed them walking away from a heavily damage car.

The officer approached the two in the Park 'n' Ride and said they appeared to be suffering from minor lacerations.

The pair allegedly told the officer that the crash happened on Interstate 93.

The owner of the vehicle, Tara Messner, 35, of Hooksett, consented to a search of the vehicle, police said. As a result, the officer arrested her on charges of transportation of a controlled drug. She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in court May 22.

The passenger allegedly gave the officer a false name and date of birth but was later identified as Michael Corey Douglas, 28, of Port Charlotte, Fla. Police charged him with felony possession of a controlled drug — roxicet and misdemeanor false report to law enforcement.

Officials transported Douglas to Concord Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance with a court date of May 4. No booking photo was available as of 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The New Hampshire State Police are investigating the crash.
