2 NH people charged with possessing crystal meth after motor vehicle stop

WOLFEBORO — Two individuals were arrested on multiple drug charges on Thursday night.

Thomas Mcwhinnie, 54 of Gilmanton, and Nicole Spring, 33 of Wolfeboro, were driving when they were pulled over by police for a moving vehicle infraction at about 9:12 p.m.

When officers approached the vehicle, they suspected drugs were inside. After receiving consent to search the vehicle, police said they found drug paraphernalia and what they believed to be minor amounts of crystal meth and marijuana.

McWhinnie and Spring were both arrested and charged with possession of crystal meth, as well as a single additional charge for each.

Mcwhinnie was also charged with transportation of drugs, while Spring was also charged with possession of marijuana for a small pipe and grinder containing marijuana residue, police said.

Police said they are waiting for an analysis from the N.H. Crime Lab to confirm the identity of the substances.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Ossipee 3rd Circuit Court on February 15.
