2 New England states in Top 10, southern states rank low in online jobs report
Two New England states ranked in the Top 10 in a recent examination of job opportunity by an online financial site.
The results are good for Granite Staters, or people looking to become one through a job change. New Hampshire ranked third in WalletHub's ranking of best states for jobs. The site compared all 50 states over 24 indicators to come up with their 2017 rankings.
The bottom of the list? West Virginia, bringing up the rear at No. 50.
Other New England states filled the list, with Massachusetts at No. 7, Vermont at 12, Connecticut at 14, Maine at 20 and Rhode Island at 21.
New Hampshire ranked second for most job opportunities. Colorado ranked first. Maine took the third spot for highest employment growth. Massachusetts ranked first for highest monthly median salary.
New Hampshire also ranked low in unemployment rate.
Rhode Island workers spent the least amount of time working out of the New England states at No. 3. Utah workers took the No. 1 spot.
Vermonters have the fourth highest ranking for most job satisfaction.
