2 drivers identified after serious weekend crash on Route 28 in Derry

DERRY - Two people were pulled from a car using the Jaws of Life Saturday evening.

According to Derry Police, a Ford Explorer and a Honda Accord collided on Route 28 near Ryan's Hill and both drivers needed to be extricated from their vehicles.

Guy Pavone, 69 of Kingston, and Raymond Rentas, 35 of Derry, both sustained serious injuries.

Rentas was flown to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and Pavone was brought to Parkland Medical Center and later transferred to Boston Medical Center.

Route 28 was closed for about six hours Saturday while police conducted an investigation into the accident.
