2 armed robberies in Manchester within 5 minutes; suspects still at large, police say


MANCHESTER - Police responded to two armed robberies Tuesday night, both within 5 minutes of each other.

The first robbery attempt was reported at 61 Market, located at 61 Maple St. in Manchester, and the second robbery was reported at Shawn’s Corner Market, of 912 Somerville St.

The clerk at 61 Market said a masked Caucasian man around 5’7 to 5’8, 160 lbs. entered the store waving a black handgun while demanding cash, and was last seen on foot approaching Wilson Street wearing a black mask, and a dark colored jacket and gloves.

The clerk from the second robbery at Shawn's Corner Market, described the male suspect to be around 5’07-5’09 with a medium build and also had a black mask with a black hooded sweatshirt and black gloves.
