2,500 bags of heroin, 1.6 ounces of pot seized in drug bust at Lebanon hotel

LEBANON -Police said they seized more than $50,000 worth of individually packed bags of heroin from two men in a hotel Thursday night.

After recieveing a tip from Vermont police Lebanon officers said they conducted a drug investigation at the Baymont Inn at 45 Airport Road.

Vermont police said Thomas Avery, 37, and son Dylan Avery, 18, both of Barre, Vt., may have been in possession of large quantities of heroin and marijuana.

1.6 ounces of marijuana and 2,500 individually wrapped bags of heroin - with a street value of over $50,000 - were found during the bust, police said.

Dylan Avery was charged with controlled drug acts prohibited with intent to distribute and held on $50,000 cash bail.

Thomas Avery was charged with controlled drug acts prohibited and released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.
