19-year-old sentenced for shooting himself with a stolen gun and lying to police
MANCHESTER — A Manchester man has pleaded guilty after shooting himself in the foot and claiming he'd been shot by a black man.
According to the Union Leader, Assistant Hillsborough County Attorney Michael J. Zaino said Brown shot himself in the foot with a stolen Smith & Wesson in the fall of 2014, but told police a black man had shot him.
Nicholas Brown, 19, of 16 Walnut St., Apt. 2, received two suspended sentences but will serve at least 45 days in jail on charges of receiving stolen property and filing a false report.
The prosecutor said investigators learned what really happened when they talked to Brown's girlfriend, who told them he had shot himself.
