18-year-old stabbed in back after trying to break up fight in Manchester

MANCHESTER — An 18-year-old man was brought to Elliot Hospital last night for a single stab wound after trying to break up a fight.

The officers spoke with the victim prior to him being treated and he stated the incident allegedly took place near Spruce Street and Union Street.

The victim told police he witnessed an altercation and attempted to break it up to prevent someone from being assaulted. He was stabbed during the alleged confrontation.

The man was treated for a serious, but non-life threatening laceration on his upper back. The victim was not able to give police more information due to his condition worsening.

The investigation remains active, no additional information is available at this time.
