18-year-old passenger killed in Route 16 rollover crash, driver seriously injured
OSSIPEE — Police have identified the driver who was seriously injured and a passenger who was killed in a rollover crash on Route 16 Friday morning.
Police said a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Logan Tyler Dunn, 20 of Wakefield, Massachusetts, was driving southbound on Route 16 when it failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway, struck multiple trees and rolled over.
The vehicle was discovered by another motorist at about 5:19 a.m., but police said the exact time of the crash is unknown.
A passenger, Danielle Benedetto, 18 of Wakefield, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dunn was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, where he has remained in critical condition.
Police said speed and alcohol are possible factors in the accident, but it remains under investigation.
