18-year-old charged with arson, accused of lighting 2 separate fires in Concord

CONCORD - Firefighters responded to two fires Sunday night which they say were lit on purpose by a Danbury teen.

Firefighters arrived at 11 Stickney Ave. and found a former warehouse building owned by the state was up in flames.

Fire officials determined that an exterior fire extended into the building through the eves, and also found a second fire burning in a small brush area near the Holiday Inn.

The investigation led to the arrest of Steven Rowell, 18 of Danbury and police charged him with two counts of arson - one Class B felony and one Class A misdemeanor; falsifying physical evidence - a Class B felony; and two counts of breach of bail (from previous unrelated charges).

Rowell is currently being held with no bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
