1600 to receive degrees at Dartmouth College commencement
HANOVER — Dartmouth College's commencement on Sunday caps the 2016 spring college graduation season in New Hampshire.
About 1,000 undergraduate and 600 graduate students will receive degrees during ceremonies on the Dartmouth Green. The keynote speaker will be Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee, a human rights activist who built an interfaith women's movement that helped end the Liberian civil war in 2003. Her work is chronicled in her memoir, "Mighty Be Our Powers."
The academic procession begins at 9 a.m. Commencement ceremonies will take place on the green rain or shine.
The New Hampshire College and University Council says more than 19,000 college students statewide received degrees this spring.
