130-year-old NH tree on Prescott Farm added to 'Big Tree List'


A black walnut tree that is 130 years old has been added to the New Hampshire big Tree list, which is established by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Service

The tree is on the property of Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center, according to the Laconia Citizen.

It is one of the latest on the list of about 800 trees on of the Big Tree List, which is part of a national registry.

The tree measures 7'7'' in circumference. However, the title of largest black walnut tree in the state belongs to a Hopkinton tree that measures 14'10''
