13-year-old faces assault charges after Pokemon Go related fight in Concord

CONCORD — The Pokemon Go craze appears to be the root of a fight that took place in downtown Concord Wednesday night.

Concord police said two adults and two minors were searching for Pokemon characters on North Main Street around 8:30 p.m. when one of them – a boy only 13 years old – began yelling obscenities. That, allegedly, led to a few punches being thrown.

As a result, the unnamed 13-year-old was charged with simple assault and domestic violence.

Concord police say this is the department’s first Pokemon Go related arrest.
