1 man dead after fire at Peaceful Assembly Church in Grafton

GRAFTON - One man was killed after a fire that heavily damaged the Peaceful Assembly Church Tuesday morning, according to Valley News.

Around 11 a.m. fire officials responded to the two alarm fire at the Route 4 church.

By noon heavy smoke was billowing from the church, which was built in 1798 and considered to be the town's centerpiece.

No cause of the fire has been determined, but the State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.

The identity of the man is not being released yet.
