1 killed, 4 more injured in rollover crash involving at least three New Hampshire residents

CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) — One person was killed and four more were injured in an early-morning crash.

State police responded to Route 3 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a 2000 Mercury being driven by a 34-year-old woman was struck by a 2008 Jeep being driven by a 45-year-old man from Nashua.

The Mercury rolled over, ejecting the driver and two of the passengers.

The driver was pronounced dead at an area hospital. A Westmoreland woman, a passenger whose age wasn't released, is in critical condition. A second passenger, a 27-year-old woman, was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. A third passenger, a 31-year-old man from Keene, was treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The northbound side of Route 3 was shut down for nearly 4 1/2 hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
