Pat Kelly and Peter St James of Good Morning New Hampshire spent some time chatting with the Executive Director of Laconia Motorcycle Week, Charlie St Clair, and there is much for two and three-wheeled riders to take advantage of.
Each day, there are rides, runs, music and fun to be had. The festivities get underway the first Saturday with the Peter Makris Memorial Run, that leaves the Naswa Resort at Weirs Beach at 11AM for a State Police escorted ride around Lake Winnipesaukee. There are guided rides in all directions throughout the week, and many rides are fundraisers for local charities.
There are heritage events that excite locals and visitors alike, such as the Annual Hillclimb at Gunstock in Gilford on Wednesday, or the Cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee aboard the MS Mount Washington on Monday at 4:30. You will find new events, like the Hillclimb at Tower Hill, starting on Lakeside Avenue at the Weirs!
And the fun isn’t limited to the Laconia City Limits. Motorcycle Demo rides and other festivities will be happening at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon. There will be two Ride to the Sky events, up the Mount Washington Auto Road, to the summit of the Northeast’s highest peak.
And, of course, there will be music, between the Laconia Roadhouse at the Weirs, and just about every local bar/restaurant. The Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford also features two nights of Dave Mathews, and a Poison/Cheap Trick Concert on Friday night. Get a complete look at events at laconiamcweek.com.
Riders from all over the country and the world will converge on the Granite State, to explore its wonderful resources, from the Seacoast to the Lakes Region, to the White Mountains.
And “Look Three Times,” be on the lookout all week for motorcycles.
