Here's a life hack if you do happen to get a little too much sun this summer. Everybody knows aloe is the go-to for burns but did you know that an item in your refrigerator could help as well?
That's right... Milk! A cold compress using milk can relieve some of the pain and also speed up the healing process, according to board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist Dr. Adarsh Vijay Mudgil.
Dr. Mudgil went on to explain that milk helps pull heat away from the skin, "Vitamin A and D in milk are antioxidants, which can help assist healing the skin. The lactic acid in milk can help exfoliate some of the dead skin cells away."
So what if you're out of milk? Yogurt, and antioxidant-packed black tea or an oatmeal bath can also help with inflammation."
